Advanced Reflexology (Debbie Stevens)
Reflexology is a popular and relaxing holistic treatment based on the principle that reflex points on the hands and feet are connected to corresponding areas throughout the body. It is a gentle and soothing massage of the hands and feet through which the energy channels and body systems can be reached. It has a balancing, relaxing and healing effect on the whole person. Reflexology at the Life Makeover Show will be a non intrusive treatment: the only clothing removed is your socks and shoes.
Massage
>>> Back, Neck & Shoulders
Massage is the treatment and practice of manipulation of the soft body tissues with physical, functional, and in some cases psychological purposes and goals. Massage involves acting and manipulating the patient's body with pressure, tension, motion, or vibration done manually or with mechanical aids. Target tissues may include muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, joints, or other connective tissue. Massage can be applied with the hands, fingers, elbows, forearm, and feet. Massage at the Life Makeover Show is a non intrusive treatment which will take place fully clothed in a massage chair.
>>> Indian Head Massage (Alyson Sydenham / Cathy Alderson / Yvette Ball)
Indian Head Massage is a simple effective therapy that relieves the symptoms of stress.
The head, neck and shoulders often store the build up of tension caused by the pressures of everyday life. A firm, comfortable massage technique releases knots and blockages and improves circulation ensuring well being. Very relaxing and calming, the massage covers upper back, shoulders, neck, head and face and is done through the clothes, with or without oils on the scalp.
>>> Hot Stones Massage (Cathy Alderson)
Stone massage therapy has been used in many different cultures for many years. Healers used rocks from the river beds and warmed them either in hot coals or hot water. Placing the hot stones on cloth on the body and arranging them along the energy centres of the body would help to relax the muscles and reduce pain or discomfort, boosting a healing process. The placing of the stones is followed by a massage which can be deeper and more intense as heat penetrates the body and relaxes the muscles. Hot Stone therapy can help in the treatment of for following problems; muscular aches, pains, and strains, rheumatic and arthritic conditions, Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, back pain, and insomnia. It also helps to improve circulation and can help reduce stress, anxiety, tension and depression.
>>> Holistic Massage (Zara Webb)
'Holistic Massage Therapy aims to treat the whole person taking into account life-style and emotional issues. It benefits the individual on many levels, physically it helps relieve aches and pains and brings about a deep sense of relaxation. It also is helpful for relieving stress physically, mentally and emotionally; and encourages the body to heal itself partly through helping to remove toxins and from stimulating blood flow therefore allowing nutrients to reach every cell in the body. A massage allows the mind to unwind and is some time out from day to day life.'

Stretching movements are also applied to relax and energise the body, increasing flexibility and releasing tension. The massage is a deeply relaxing experience that de-stresses the individual, promotes general healing and gives an overall sense of well-being.

Natural Lift Facial Massage (Cathy Alderson / Linda Belcher)
Natural Face Lift or Facial Rejuvenation Massage is a gentle non-invasive approach to younger looking skin. It works primarily by freeing constrictions both within the facial muscles and in the connective tissue. This is achieved by using a unique blend of highly effective techniques drawn from both Japanese and Indian Face Massage and by using specific Accupressure and Facial Reflexology points. This "lifts" the facial muscles, increasing oxygen and nutrients to the area whilst removing toxins from the face, creating a more healthy skin tone. Benefits include: fewer wrinkles and lines; tighter facial contours & improved complexion; reduction in puffy eyes, headaches and stress.
Health Kinesiology (Jess Haslett KFRP)
Health Kinesiology is a holistic therapy that combines the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine with Western techniques. Each body has its own inner energy systems which can become disrupted or blocked. This can occur for many reasons including injury, emotional and psychological trauma or nutritional issues, and can cause many different symptoms. Muscles testing is used to assess what stresses and energy blockages need addressing.Allergy Testing using Kinesiology's gentle muscle testing technique can identify substances which are relevant to specific symptoms, The allergens may include foods, chemicals or airborne matter. The testing needs no skin prick tests, and no direct contact with the substance so it is completely safe, and very effective
Systematic Kinesiology (Linda Belcher)
Systematic Kinesiology does not rely on a belief system when muscle testing and tests the client with the mind in neutral unless seeking to show that the relevant emotion is having an effect on physical health. It does not ask for Yes or No answers when testing.Kinesiology is a way of identifying imbalance a person has by monitoring their ability to hold their muscles against light pressure. Each muscle is related to an organ and also to an energy pathway called a meridian. Together the muscle, organ and meridian form a “circuit”. If there are any stresses affecting the circuit, the muscle tested will feel “spongy” indicating an imbalance and then the Kinesiology's can use the muscle test again to get feedback from the person’s body about the factors aggravating the imbalance and what will help to rebalance it. This is a holistic treatment as all realms of the individual are addressed - structural/physical, chemical/nutritional, emotional and electrical.
Bowen Technique (Jan Davies)
The Bowen Technique is so versatile that it can be used to address almost any condition in the body. This gentle uninvasive and holistic technique provokes the body to rebalance and re-align itself which can result in some conditions being completely eradicated. Back problems are frequently addressed in this way with Pilates exercises being prescribed to follow in order to maintain the corrections.
Reiki (Mark Nailer)
Reiki, (Rei-universal) (Ki-life force) is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use.
